Our Day at Jasmine Moran's

This spring break I took Hudson to the Jasmine Moran's Children's Museum in Seminole, OK. It had been years since I'd been there, so when Hudson's grandpa Kelly (my father-in-law) volunteered to come along, I was thankful because I couldn't remember where I was going! We made it and spent several hours there having fun. We enjoyed watching Hudson explore the museum and get into all of the activities. He most enjoyed the painting station, the rock pit with over-sized dump trucks, the giant slide, grocery shopping and of course, the train.
We braved the rain and cold and took Hudson on his first train ride. It was a great day of making memories and bringing joy to the face of our little engineer.

Duck Tales

March hasn't been the greatest month, to say the least. Thursday I received some unlikely news, but just like any other grey cloud, this one had a silver lining...Hudson. He has been and always will be the greatest blessing in our lives and the timing of his life has a whole new, perfect meaning.
I wanted to spend some quality time with him and take him to do something he really loved, so, we went to feed the ducks. I'm sure it might not seem like a big deal, but he loves feeding the ducks! Of course, he comes by it naturally; Kyle is an avid duck hunter and has been his entire life, thus, Hudson has had a duck call in his mouth ever since he could crawl and has his own subscription to Puddler magazine (the kid-friendly version of Ducks Unlimited).
By the time we got to Theta Pond, I wasn't sure we would have any bread left. Hudson had a piece in his hand and crumbs all over his shirt; he had been eating it the whole way there. Luckily, we had plenty for the ducks and had a wonderful afternoon in the sunshine feeding our feathered friends.

A Perfect Day for the Zoo

The first Sunday in March, we woke up to beautiful weather.  I mentioned to Kyle that I thought it would be the perfect day to go to the OKC Zoo.  It just so happend that my cousin, Brittnee, who has a little boy Hudson's age, also had the same idea.  She called, and two hours later Hudson and I were on our way!  Dalton and Hudson had so much fun running, playing and making all of the animal sounds.  To top off the day, we even got to feed the giraffes. Hudson and I got slushies on the drive back and he talked about feeding the giraffes, seeing Nemo and Dori , and seeing the bears the whole ride home.

Our So Called "Snow" Day

The end of February was supposed to bring us a big blizzard...well, it didn't.  But, the good news is that on the 25th we got off work early, and on the 26th we got a whole snow day!  We had so much fun in those two days, we had delicious taco soup, yummy banana bread, played a lot of trains and even took a big shopping trip.
