One Sunny Day in Tulsa

This past Sunday, we decided to make an inpromtu trip to Tulsa.  It had been weeks since we'd seen Crista, Justin & Wake.  Hudson asked me nearly every day during that time when could we go see "baby Wake."  I also knew that Wake had started walking and I couldn't wait to see him in action.
So, Sunday morning Hudson and I loaded up and headed down the turnpike to Tulsa.  We also met my parents there, so the 7 of us got to spend the whole day together. We had lunch at Chuy's and then headed to Woodward park where we spent most of the day.

They are both so handsome...little heartbreakers.

Hey Nicki, You're So Fine

For the fourth year in a row, my cousin Nicki asked me to do her hair and makeup for her prom.  Every year I am so excited and every year I think she can't possibly get more beautiful, but, you guessed it, she does! She is 6 years younger than I am and I love her dearly. I am so proud of the young woman she is.
Nicki wasn't the only one wearing blush on Saturday, Hudson's cheeks were quite rosy too. When Nicki comes around he starts to blush and his big brown eyes light up.  I guess you could say he has somewhat of a crush.  We couldn't see her off without getting a few pictures, especially with her main 'lil' man...Hudson.

Hudson's First Fishing Trip

The first weekend in April, Hudson went on his very first fishing trip.  He woke up early Saturday morning with his Grammie and Papa and made a road trip to Sulphur, OK.
His Papa bought him a shiny, new red fishing pole, they dug up worms and got to work.  Hudson had so much fun "swinging" the pole and watching the line drop in the water.  The day was filled with fishing, hiking, a visit to the nature center, but sadly, no fish.
There's always next time!

Our Happy Easter

I was looking forward to this Easter because I knew that Hudson would be very excited to hunt Easter eggs.  The Wednesday before Easter, Hudson had an Easter egg hunt at school, so he had already practiced and was ready for Sunday afternoon.  When we got to Grammie & Papa's house we enjoyed a yummy lunch and the company of our family.  Hudson got to hunt Easter eggs with his cousin Dalton and between the two of them they had about 40 to find. Hudson wasn't into the real eggs. He picked up all of them and shook them before putting them into his basket; if he heard candy or money, he happily took it, if not, he hesitantly sat it in the bottom of the basket.  After the hunt, they ate their loot and played on Dalton's new four-wheeler.
