Busy Bunnies

This Easter we had a wonderful weekend with our families. Friday and Saturday night we got to spend time with Kyle's family.  Hudson had a blast dying Easter eggs at his Nana & Papa's.  He a lot of practice hunting Easter eggs at their house and by Sunday, he was an expert.  He woke up Sunday to a basket filled with yummy candy, a new movie and other fun Easter toys.  Before we left, I had to snap a picture of him with his Nana & Papa.  Kyle has such wonderful grandparents and I'm so happy that Hudson had the opportunity to spend time with them.

Sunday afternoon we headed to my parent's house.  My mom was hosting an Easter party and for the first time in a long time most of our family was able to attend.  Hudson found so much excitement in hunting Easter eggs with Wake and Dalton.  Between the three of them, they had around 90 eggs to find.  As you can imagine, each boy ended the hunt with baskets that were filled to the brim and overflowing. As "Hallmark" as it may sound, my heart felt much like their baskets by the end of the weekend, filled to the brim and overflowing with love for our wonderful family and our Savior.

Sharp Dressed (lil') Man

As the song says, "Every girl's crazy bout a sharp dressed man." In my case, a sharp dressed little man. On March 29th, we had the priviledge of watching two friends, Chase and Allison become man and wife.  Both Kyle and Hudson were honored to be a part of the ceremony, but perhaps no one was quite as happy as Hudson.  After several mishaps, we finally got Hudson's little tux, and I've got to say it was well worth it. He was feeling snazzy and ready for a party.

At the reception, he didn't waste any time finding the dance floor.  He found the flower girl and they danced the night away. It took some convincing, but after a long night, he was ready to head back to the hotel at about 10:30.  On the ride back, he informed me he was a big fan of weddings because you can dance and have cake!

Our New Nest

March 28th we finally moved into our new house. We'd been house hunting in Stillwater for awhile and when I came across this gem, I knew it was the one. After several months of waiting, everything fell into place and we couldn't love it more!
I've added pictures of some of my favorite rooms.

Spring Training

This Spring Hudson started to show an interest in baseball. So, we decided it would be a good idea to take him to Dupree's to pick out his first baseball glove. After he tried on several gloves, a bright orange bat caught his eye. Shortly after, he decided he no longer wanted to practice catching, but wanted to hit the ball instead. We left Dupree's with Hudson's first baseball bat.

After leaving Dupree's we thought it completely appropriate that our little man get a new haircut for Spring time as well.  We headed down Washington St. to Bud's Barber Shop. Bud's has been around since the 50's and trust me, not much has changed since then.  Hudson left Bud's looking clean cut and ready to play some baseball.

We had such a fun afternoon.
Go get em, Slugger!

Wake's 2nd Birthday

It's hard to believe, but in January, Wake turned two! He's growing so fast and I love seeing his personality develop.  We were unable to see him on his actual birthday, but on March 1st we finally got to put our arms around him, at a birthday party my sister and her mother-in-law threw for him in Oklahoma.
Hudson and I had so much fun playing with Wake.  Wake especially loved his cake this year and would've been completely satisfied just eating all of the chocolate in the dump truck.
Happy Birthday, Wake! We love you so much.

Eddie Sutton Night

In February, OSU celebrated the career of Coach Eddie Sutton, at a special half-time program they called, "Eddie Sutton Night" during the OSU vs. Iowa State basketball game.  Hudson and I were lucky enough to score tickets to the game.  Minus the Cowboys' loss to Iowa State, it was such a great night.  Hudson loves OSU basketball and has been fortunate enough to have already attended at least half a dozen games with us. I hope he remembers all the fun nights we've spent and will spend in Gallagher-Iba Arena cheering on our Cowboys, they are memories I will treasure forever!

"Let's name him Thomas."

For those of you that know me, you know, I'm kind of a dog lover. I have been known to make people pick up stray dogs off the side of the road and I even made a date do this once, case in point...I am just sensitive when it comes to dogs.

That being said, I'm sure it comes as no surprise that I find it fun to go to the Humane Society on Saturdays or Sundays and play with the dogs.   This past Sunday Kyle, Hudson and I did just that. I was in no way expecting that any of us would fall in love with a dog...but we did.

We ended up spending our entire time at the shelter playing with a 2-3 year old pointer/american english coonhound, named Grant.  Grant had the sweetest demeanor. He was completely taken with Hudson and Hudson was completely taken with him.

Before we left Hudson looked at me and said, "Let's name him Thomas."
Several days went by and all I was hearing from both Kyle and Hudson were questions about when we were going to bring Thomas home and make him a part of the family.  On January 29th, we brought him home and I'm so glad we did.  He and Hudson have become best friends and Thomas is the most appreciative rescue dog I've ever been around.
